ABOUT JEN

Jen Augello is a passionate musician who enjoys working in music from multiple angles. As a clarinetist, Jen has enjoyed a career that has allowed her to perform with various ensembles and festivals alongside Broadway musicians and members of the Houston Grand Opera and Detroit Symphony. She currently serves as the second clarinetist of New York Chamber Players and has performed with various other ensembles including the New York Repertory Symphony, Golden Rose Opera, Manhattan Opera Studio, TADA! Youth Theatre, Ohio Light Opera, Orchestra Iowa, and Da Camera Young Artists. She served as Artist in Residence with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra and has been a guest artist at various colleges including the University of South Alabama, Colorado Mesa University, and Texas Christian University.  As a D’Addario Woodwinds Method Clinician, Jen has been invited to countless public schools and universities in the New York City area and to Yale University, Eastman School of Music, and The Glenn Gould School.

In addition to performing, Jen has a great interest in production and operations. She currently works for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Broadway Pops International, and as a freelance consultant. Having previously worked at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute with their community engagement and artist training programs, Jen enjoyed helping produce programs intended to enrich the lives of people in our immediate community.

Having always had an interest in community engagement, Jen helped develop WhizKids and the D’Addario Woodwind Method Program as one their first teaching artists/clinicians.  She went on to build a large private studio and became a teaching artist for Young Audiences of Houston and InterSchool Orchestras.

Jen received her Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Clarinet Performance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Iowa.
